I'd have to say, I'm always bored during the day at cortland, on the weekends. There's no town to walk around or shop in any stores. And if you don't have a car, there's not much to do then. But this weekend was actually fun and busy.
First, on friday, friends from home came up and it's only been a week since we've been here but its always cool to see people from home. So of course we went out friday night, had our fun. And that night my boyfriend said he was going to come visit saturday so i got really excited. It was awesome seeing him but it sucked because he only stayed til sunday afternoon, and saturday night i had to nightclerk and i didn't have enough time to take off considering he told me the night before. But he hung out anyway with the other people who came to visit then hung out with me a bit at work, how nice of him :). Then on sunday they alll went home and I was thinking now its back to being bored. Then my phone rang and a few of us went to teh Syracuse Mall just to waste some time being on campus. It wasn't much but it was something to do, and it was alot better than being stuck in the room or sleeping all day.
Then today, we had the day off for labor day and i planned on catching up on sleep and relaxing but instead I went to ithaca for cliff jumping. My friend nick asked me to go with him and some rugby guys and i love to go off cliffs so i was excited. On the way there, we got a lost a million times, taking wrong turns, not finding roads, but eventually we got there. We wanted to go to the illegal cliffs, hopefully i'm allowed to say that on here but no one had the exact directions for them. We just ended up at the state park, and we got there to hear them say, all the swimming areas were closed because there were no lifeguards. How much does that suck to hear! So we checked out another park, and a guy gave us a little hint saying we could walk around and go in the water and just not get caught. So thats what we did. It ended up being a freaking hike and a half all over the state park and we didn't even go in any water, or jump any cliffs! What i got myself into today, and all i wanted to do was relax. Oh well though, like i said, anything really is better than staying the dorm all day.. and it was an adventure i guess you can say? I got my workout for the weeek! Hopefully i don't wake up sore tomorrow :)

I aggree. Weekends during the day in Cortland can be pretty boring, especially if you don't have car. I've been to the cliffs over in Ithaca, they're gorgeous. On a nice day, actually going in the water and jumping off is a lot of fun. Even last year though, right before school ended when it was really warm, the water was still freezing. So don't worry about the fact that you didn't go in the water, it was probably pretty cold anyway. I definitly recomend going again though, its a lot of fun just to hang out there on a nice day.
yes...during the days here there is nothing much to do. Thats why people resort to drinking here at cortland...hence its one of the largest drinking schools?...
So when my borfried comes to visit we go to syracuse for dinner and or just to go walk around for the day. Also, i found some local state parks so we'll be hitting them up in the near furture. If i find some good/nice parks ill let ya know. lol. It'd be nice to do SOMETHING other than sitting in my apartment with him...not like thats somthing i dont ever want to do. :D
